Alexander McQueen は、Tate Britain にて開催される大規模展覧会「The 90s: Art and Fashion」への支援を行うことを光栄に思います。本展は Edward Enninful OBE がキュレーションを手掛け、アート、ファッション、そして現代文化を大きく変えた時代を独自の視点から探求します。
1992年にロンドンで Lee Alexander McQueen により創設された Alexander McQueen は、英国のファッションとカルチャーにおける重要な時代に誕生しました。Savile Row と Central Saint Martins で学んだ McQueen は、英国仕立ての精緻な技術とクラフツマンシップを、挑発的かつ妥協のないクリエイティブビジョンと融合させました。その作品は既存の価値観に挑み、ファッションの枠を超えて広く共鳴し、1990年代を象徴するアート、カルチャー、創造的表現の豊かな対話を体現しました。
本展への支援の一環として、Alexander McQueen は1990年代の代表的なランウェイショーから厳選したアーカイブルックを貸し出しています。影響力のあるアート作品や文化的な表現とともに展示されるこれらの作品は、ファッション史を形づくった時代の創造的背景のなかで、メゾン初期のクリエーションに触れる貴重な機会を提供します。
