Alexander McQueen supports Tate Britain The 90s: Art and Fashion
Alexander McQueen is honoured to support The 90s: Art and Fashion, a landmark exhibition at Tate Britain, curated by Edward Enninful OBE, whose unique perspective examines an era that reshaped art, fashion and contemporary culture.
Alexander McQueen, founded by Lee Alexander McQueen in London in 1992, emerged during this defining decade in British fashion and culture. Having trained on London's Savile Row and at Central Saint Martins, McQueen united the precision of British tailoring and craftsmanship with a subversive and uncompromising creative vision. His work challenged convention and resonated far beyond fashion, reflecting the rich dialogue between art, culture and creative expression that characterised the 1990s.
As part of its support of the exhibition, Alexander McQueen has loaned a selection of archival looks from its seminal 1990s runway shows. Presented in dialogue with influential artworks and cultural voices, these pieces offer a rare opportunity to experience the house's early work within the wider creative landscape of a decade that shaped fashion history.
