The Manta Bag
The McQueen ‘Manta’ bag is a sculptural reimagining of the original ‘De Manta’ bag, first introduced by Lee Alexander McQueen for the Spring Summer 2010 ‘Plato’s Atlantis’ collection. Innovation stirred by the anatomy of the natural world — an enduring influence.
Inspired by underwater creatures, the Manta references the anatomy of the Manta ray, translating its distinctive form into an angular folded silhouette. The Manta’s geometry embodies tensions deep at the heart of McQueen. Sculptural and sharp, clashing the elemental and the urbane.
