Caring For Your Jewellery
McQueen jewels reflect expert craftsmanship, precision and the personality of the Brand. Our artisans select only the finest materials, each tested to meet the highest standards of quality. Our Jewels are made from precision-cast brass or aluminum that has subsequently been colored via electroplating in a bath of precious metal, such as palladium or 24-carat gold, which is guaranteed to be nickel-free. The aged look of the finish is intentional and should not be considered a defect but a characteristic of the item.
The precious and unique design of our product has been created by enhancing its details and three-dimensionality. Any accidental impacts with hard surfaces or blunt objects could compromise its appearance and integrity.
To preserve the beauty and integrity of your McQueen jewels over time, we invite you to follow our care guidelines tailored to each material.
- Protect your jewel from water, oils, fragrance and makeup.
- If your jewel meets liquid substance, gently dab with a soft, natural-coloured cloth. Do not rub the surface.
- Keep away from direct sunlight, humidity and extreme weather condition.
- Do not apply chemical cleaners that are not designed for your item, such as silver polish, trichloroethylene, oils, stain removers, alcohol or solvents.
- If your item loses its shine, do not rub the surface with rough or abrasive materials.
- When not in use, store upright in its flannel pouch.
Varnish jewels require particular care due the delicacy of this finish. The product’s original appearance may begin to vary as a result of daily use. As items of jewelry are in constant use and may easily come into contact with other surfaces, scratches, minor dents, a loss of brilliance and chips in the varnish may be evident. For this reason, we advise the item be used with care in order to preserve its original appearance.
We also recommend that you do not allow pale-colored articles to come into contact with dark-colored materials in order to prevent any potential color transfer, an intrinsic characteristic of painted or coated materials.
Additional care for varnish:
- Avoid contact with oily substances and perfumes.
- Avoid exposing the products to direct sources of light and heat or damp environments for prolonged periods.
- Do not use care products that are not designed for your item, such as oils, stain removers, alcohol or solvents.
Components made from resin-based polymer blends may be coloured or finished using specialized painting processes.
To preserve its appearance over time:
- If the surface loses its shine, do not rub with rough or abrasive materials.
- Do not use silver polish, alcohol, solvents, or chemical cleaners.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and heat, as colour changes may occur over time.
