Drawing inspiration from traditional military formal dress styles, this custom look captures the decadence and artistry of McQueen. Intricate gold bullion and metallic sequins are hand-embroidered in a bold floral border motif and paired with an all-over delicate scattered bullion technique applied to the surface of jet-back wool gabardine.
Oyster ruffles created in delicate silk georgette, recall the organically beautiful forms of an oyster shell and nod to the archival ‘Irere’ McQueen collection from Spring Summer 2003, which first showcased this dramatic fabric technique in the iconic ‘Oyster’ dress. For Autumn Winter 2025 this texture is reimagined through a contemporary lens, finished with romantically raw edges and contrasted against precisely tailored silhouettes in rich cavalry twill wool.
