Grounded in the house’s foundational tailoring codes, Kaytranada’s custom Met Gala look references traditional menswear techniques and fabrics. A shrunken jacket silhouette with signature kickback trousers, is crafted in black exaggerated cavalry wool twill – a uniquely textured fabric developed for the McQueen Autumn Winter 2025 collection, made with an amplified diagonal weave for a three-dimensional effect.

A tuxedo shirt in white compact cotton poplin with pleating detail and a belted wing tip collar is accented with dramatic ivory-toned layers of ruffled, washed silk, organza and georgette, drawing on the romantic ‘oyster’ ruffle technique seen throughout archival McQueen collections. For Kaytranada’s 2025 Met Gala look, Creative Director Seán McGirr has reinterpreted this technique, juxtaposing the delicate un-done texture against the sharp lines of contemporary McQueen tailoring.

Kaytranada’s look is finished with polished Heron Oxfords in black leather, Metal T-Bar Oval sunglasses, Twin Skull and Engraved Skull rings in silver metal.
