MENS FALL / WINTER 07

“THE FORGOTTEN”

Technological advancement meets old-fashioned elegance in this study of how the heroic male and the way in which the man-made is always touched by nature. The sophisticated, double-breasted silhouettes of the 1920s and 1930s is cut in traditional men’s wear fabrics – silkand wool, herrinbone tweed and Prince of Wales check –mixed with plastics and other transparent layering. X-ray prints appear on shirts and irridescents offset classic Art Deco jacquards. A darker and more youthfully assertive side of the male is represented by sporty separates, raw edged felt suits trimmed with leather, braces and slim T-shirts followed by a retro interpretation of dress on the football terraces: heavily pocketed utilitarian sportswear in nylons and rubberised fabrics shot through with electric blue and black hooded coats that obscure models’ faces.
