Here McQueen evokes the romance of the crop-haired soldier in a collection infused with sweet nostalgia but highly contemporary nonetheless. Clothing is for the most part relaxed, utilitarian and roomy but, never afraid to explore the feminine side of his men, this is played off against henna tattooed and/or mirrored body stockings that speak of faraway places and exotic climes. Patchwork camoflage shorts, roomy trouser suits and a colour palette mainly restricted to dusty shades of sand and green are equally lifted by shots of acid yellow or brightest pink.
