MEN'S AUTUMN/WINTER 2006

SHOWN IN A CANDLELIT TUNNEL IN A DISUSED WAREHOUSE SPACE, THIS, NOT TO PUT TOO FINE A POINT OF IT, IS MCQUEEN’S VISION OF HELL.

Early 19th century vampires as portrayed in both Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula and Neil Jordan’s Interview With A Vampire are the principle inspiration but references from Performance, Nosferatu and From Hell also play their part lending this collection a highly cinematic mood. McQueen also looks at traditional Baltic folkloric dress, Korean embroideries, cut and proportion, English hunting clothes, Oliver Twist-style urchins and Jack The Ripper, hence the blood red moon.
